Hayley Atwell did a wonderful job making the Peggy Carter role her own, but she wasn't Marvel Studios' first choice. The part was in fact originally offered to Emily Blunt, who had to turn it down due to scheduling conflicts.

This is especially interesting as Blunt was previously offered the part of Black Widow, but again due to pesky scheduling issues, she had to say no and it went to Scarlett Johansson instead.

It's easy to see how Blunt would've knocked the Peggy role out of the park, though if we're being totally honest with ourselves, she probably would've been more at home as Natasha Romanoff.

All's well that ends well, though it's tough to ignore the giddy potential had Blunt and her hubby John Krasinski co-starred in the movie together.
