When you think of deadly movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe offers aren't what spring to mind. Sure, there's a bit of violence, but these are typically aimed at a broad audience, meaning you wouldn't expect a huge amount of death.

Quite surprisingly, then, it's estimated that Guardians of the Galaxy has one of, if not the highest on-screen body count of any film. Like, ever.

According to a study by insurance company Go Compare, the film sees some 83,871 people die, with around 80,000 of those members of the Nova Corps in the final battle. That puts it streets ahead of the likes of Dracula Untold (5,687), The Sum of All Fears (2,922), and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2,798). While that number of Nova Corps does sound overinflated, even if it's not close to that many it would still leave Guardians as the deadliest movie ever.
