MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)
3. The Big Easter Egg Still Hasn't Been Found - Or Has It?
Guardians of the Galaxy is a film that, even by MCU standards, is absolutely chock full of Easter eggs, including one that has become something of the Holy Grail for MCU gunters. For years, Gunn has spoken about an Easter egg in the movie that NO ONE has found, despite plenty of efforts to do so.
Last year, however, saw a lot of coverage of discoveries, one of which have been the Easter egg in question. YouTuber Second Son, in a video titled 'The Last Big Easter Egg in GotG Vol. 1', posited that there's a humanoid face when the Collector explains the Infinity Stones, linking that to Sentience of the Universe and, ultimately, Galactus. Another, from Redditor ajniggles, instead suggested that the Celestial connection was that it revealed Ego as the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and there were a few others too.
The issue with these is that they came out around the time or after James Gunn's firing by Disney, which meant he was on a sabbatical from social media and thus, as yet, hasn't commented on these Easter eggs on way or another.
