Bill Maher caught a lot of heat in the wake of Stan Lee's death when he published a controversial blog post denouncing comic books and complaining about adults who love "kids stuff." It culminated first in him suggesting comic fans haven't grown up...

“The guy who created Spider-Man and the Hulk has died, and America is in mourning. Deep, deep mourning for a man who inspired millions to, I don’t know, watch a movie, I guess. The assumption everyone had back [when I was a kid], both the adults and the kids, was that comics were for kids, and when you grew up you moved on to big-boy books without the pictures.”

And also that they're responsible for Trump being elected because we're all now “using our smarts on stupid stuff.”

Funny then that Maher had a cameo in Iron Man 3, isn't it? Let's hope the paycheck was worth it, eh?
