It's only a matter of time before the MCU's version of the X-Men get back around to the Dark Phoenix saga. It might take a bit, probably in the next phase or so, but that saga is so ingrained in the X-Men narrative that it's impossible to ignore. Hopefully they'll actually get it right this time.

And one crucial part that they NEED to get right are the Shi'Ar Empire, the ones that kick off that whole shebang to begin with. The Shi'Ar Empire is a collection of worlds and species that all march under the banner of the Shi'Ar. As such there are tons of varied and interesting characters that work with them.

Therein lies the idea. What if, instead of just the X-Men having to deal with this, ignoring the option of calling up a few dozen of their super powerful buddies like smart people, the other heroes recognize the threat the Shi'Ar represent and all have to pitch in. So instead of one big bad, it's an entire empire of smaller big bads introduced in different movies, all coming together to reveal that they all work for the same guys.
