MCU: 10 Most Shocking Moments In Marvel Movies So Far
7. Loki Turns Good… Then Very, Very Bad
Okay, so Thor: The Dark World is not the best Marvel film. Chris Hemsworth delivers a good performance but his relationship with Natalie Portman fails to captivate the audience. At least his on-screen time with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, however, is a different matter entirely.
This is the film where the two brothers are exactly that for the first time. No longer adversaries, not battering each other to a pulp, but genuine siblings united by a singular desire: to defeat Malekith. Ultimately, Loki dies a heroic death helping Thor defeat the Dark Elves and an emotional Thor laments the loss of his newly-nice brother.
But then, Loki isn't called the God Of Mischief for no reason. Again, kudos to those who stayed behind at the end., because it emerged that Loki has merely used his hallucinogenic powers to trick everybody into thinking he’s gone - and that he’s also taken over Odin’s body.
Perhaps we should have expected it, but it was still a huge deal.
