MCU: 14 Things You Learn Rewatching Captain America: Civil War
12. Vision Got Pretty Screwed
When he arrived in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Vision was basically a god, able to do whatever he liked with only his imagination limiting his powers thanks to the Infinity Stone that gives him life.
But, perhaps aware that he was going to be TOO powerful when it came to Thanos' eventual arrival in the MCU, the Russos used Civil War to nerf him. They do it mostly very well, establishing that he fears his own powers because he doesn't understand the nature of the Mind Stone, but some of the choices do make him seem a little foolish.
Quite why he needed to dress like a casual dad is anyone's guess and there's a noticeable drop in his powers with not enough establishing work. Sure, him hitting Rhodey at the end is justified as him "being distracted" but it could have done with more work so the intent wasn't quite so obvious.
