7. Liam Hemsworth (Thor)

Before Chris Hemsworth snagged the role of Thor, his younger brother Liam was originally up for the part, even getting further in the original auditions process until Chris begged the producers to let him take another crack at the character.

Would It Have Worked?: The main issue here is Liam's age: he's six years younger than Chris, and would have been just shy of his 20th birthday when Thor started shooting.

It's perhaps a few years too young to convincingly play the part, especially opposite Tom Hiddleston. If timing had worked out differently and the more ruggedly handsome Liam of the last few years had auditioned for the part, it's easy to imagine him nailing it.
