8. Avengers: Multiverse

Not strictly based on a single comic book event, the idea of a multiverse cross-over as the means to introduce both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four would be a truly compelling way to completely change the make-up of the MCU.

There's a lot of precedent in the comics - particularly in DC Comics - for multi-dimensional event arcs, and having both of the new properties arrive into the existing MCU fully formed would be a hell of a brave way to kick off the new MCU era.

We've already had hints that there are other Earths and other universes in Thor: The Dark World, Ant-Man and Doctor Strange so seeing those connections explored more overtly would be a good extrapolation of those seeds. And it would be a hugely marketable event too - the arrival of those two teams alone would guarantee a billion dollar haul, and it would also ensure the current MCU wouldn't need to be derailed entirely.
