MCU: 8 Hilariously Underrated Comedic Moments
2. We're Doomed (Ant-Man)
At the heart of Scott Lang's first solo outing as Ant-Man, is the camaraderie of his cohorts in Luis, Dave, and Kurt. Their reactions to being asked to help out in the film's final operation is as expected, in terms of side-splitting amusement.
The trio of criminals are brought in by Scott as a means of assistance in fighting Yellowjacket operator Darren Cross, even against the behest of Hank Pym. What follows is what audiences would expect. Luis apologizes for breaking into Pym's house, Kurt believes the Ant-Man suit's powers are the work of gypsies, and Dave argues that he let Hank Pym let him break into the house. The gang celebrates their criminality, with Luis and Dave both pointing out that they made it into the 'system.'
What is supposed to be a serious operation, in hijacking Cross' event at Pym Technologies, is immediately pierced with levity by the three. One cannot help but join in on their glee when they were asked by Scott to help out with the operation, as they feel as if they were being brought in because of their skillful nature, rather than being the only sources available for help.
With a third Ant-Manentry on the horizon, the return of Luis, Dave, and Kurt is all but guaranteed. For a film that provides laughs through the titular hero alone, audiences should also look forward to trio's overtly hilarious propensity for comedy as well.
