Most MCU fans agree that Thor: The Dark World was a failure in almost every way. Christopher Eccleston's Malekith was an unconvincing villain, Thor and Jane Foster's romance felt tepid, and the humour was forced and not very funny.
Stan's cameo is actually a highlight, playing far better than most of the cringe-worthy gags in the film. Sure, it involves Selvig's embarrassing descent into temporary insanity, but this is surely the best moment of that unfortunate subplot.
