Even if you're not a massive Marvel fan, you've definitely heard of Iron Man, aka Tony Stark.
In 2010, Stark travelled to Afghanistan to demonstrate his company's new missile. He unexpectedly becomes critically wounded and is captured by a terrorist group, the Ten Rings. While in captivity, he secretly builds an extremely powerful generator to help him escape.
Fellow captive Ho Yisen sacrifices himself so that Stark can escape, and when he eventually returns home, he announces that his company will no longer manufacture weapons. This begins the story of Iron Man.
After appearing in eleven MCU movies, the last of which being Avengers: Endgame, we saw Tony Stark meet his ultimate fate when he clicked his fingers in order to save the rest of the world. He once again saved the day, but sadly this time, he was unable to see it.
