Since audiences first saw the Infinity Gauntlet in Thor, encountered the Tesseract properly in Captain America: The First Avenger and saw Thanos in the mid-credits scene of the Avengers, they have been anticipating the possibility of a movie based around the Infinity Gauntlet comic book arc. That may well still happen, but Marvel Studios have thrown a spanner in the works by naming the movie that everyone thought would be the Infinity Gauntlet movie "Infinity War". The confusing part about that is that there is a completely different comic book arc called Infinity War - and that focuses on Magus as the villain rather than Thanos. Will this movie be based on Infinity War? Or are Marvel Studios just thinking it's a more appealing name for an Infinity Gauntlet story made for movie audiences? Only time will tell.
