In the comics, Black Panther was introduced when he sent out a signal to entice Reed Richards (who could be replaced on screen by Tony Stark). When Richards followed the signal, he was greeted with a hidden technological paradise in the middle of a jungle - Wakanda. This visual would make an epic movie scene as the Avengers arrived.
