MCU Phase 3: 20 Easter Eggs & References Marvel Should Sneak In

Fun inclusions and hints the fans would love.

Marvel Studios are becoming quite well known for their Easter eggs and references in their movies. Ever since the first Iron Man movie when Nick Fury appeared in the post-credits scene, or when Samuel Sterns' head began to mutate in The Incredible Hulk, or when the map of key Marvel locations was seen in the background in Iron Man 2, eagle-eyed and keen-eared viewers have been looking and listening out for fun little inclusions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whether these inclusions lead to anything, or mean anything, or whether they are simply there for the purposes of novelty value, it's always good to spot these things in any movies - Marvel movies, other comic book movies or all movies in general. In the case of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Easter eggs and references have ranged from universe-building examples like the name-dropping of Doctor Strange, cameos from Marvel legends like Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno, fun references to other Marvel media like the Iron Man cartoon theme from the 1960s, or references to the past work of the director involved, such as the creatures from Slither in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. The opportunities for future inclusions of this nature are, therefore, almost endless and, in this article, we're going to take a look at some of the things Marvel should consider including in the next stage of their most successful franchise.
