8. The Savage Land

The Savage Land would make for an awesome movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its unique nature as an artificially conditioned tropical location in Antarctica, its epic scenery and its vast array of weird and wonderful species and characters would make for an offering as potentially pleasantly surprising as Guardians of the Galaxy turned out to be. Like Wakanda, which is coming to your screens as soon as next year in Age of Ultron, it could easily be hinted at by appearing on a map in the background (Wakanda appeared highlighted on a map in Iron Man 2) and only the most keen-eyed of viewers would be able to spot it. A number of existing Marvel Cinematic Universe characters - such as Thanos and Nick Fury - have connections to the location in the comics, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch for it to appear on screen.
