MCU Phase 4: 10 Marvel Teams That Could Appear

1. Fantastic Four

Like X-Men, the Fantastic Four are one of the A-list teams in comic books. They’ve also recently become eligible thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Fox properties, and have previously started in three blockbusters.

However, unlike the X-Men, their movies weren’t particularly successful, nor their characters especially relevant in the public zeitgeist. Marvel fans love the Human Torch, but they readily accepted Steve Rogers and Killmonger in the MCU because there was no attachment to Chris Evans or Michael B. Jordan in that role.

While the Fantastic Four comics are beloved, the movie versions simply aren’t. This means Marvel are pretty much free to introduce them however and whenever they wish, rather than let them cool on the shelf like the X-Men.

The only difficulty is in the how. We don’t really want to sit through yet another origin story, but if they’ve been around for a while, why haven’t they been helping?

We could get an implied origin story like Spider-Man: Homecoming, or else have their accident caused by one of the cosmic movies. Failing that, Johnny could be introduced in Homecoming as Spidey’s classmate who aged around him during the Snap, or maybe even Doom could appear first and usher them in.
