4. Secret Invasion Could Return

The mid credits scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home revealed that the Skrulls had disguised themselves as high ranking S.H.I.E.L.D officials and were basically living on earth. We know for sure that Nick Fury and Maria Hill have been away on a galactic vacation while their green friends have been filling in. Who knows, perhaps there are many more scattered across the globe.

This obviously draws comparisons with the Secret Invasion arc from the comics where the Skrulls use these tactics to infiltrate and eventually invade the earth. Now in the MCU, the Skrulls have generally fought alongside the heroes. And here too they appear to be only helping out by handling Fury’s job for him.

With all that being said, surely having the Skrulls do this hints at a potential big storyline surrounding them in the future. Maybe they are the good guys, maybe they are hiding something, maybe the truth is something we have not even thought about.
