8. Scarlet Witch Turns Evil

Although Wanda Maximoff started out life in the MCU as a villain for the Avengers to contend with, she has, in the events since, proven to be a wonderful superhero. She has a tortured past and is still a villain to many in the public eye, but fans have become accustomed to her heroics since her switch in Age of Ultron.

That heroic streak might soon be at an end, however, at least if a fan theory is to be believed. Posted by Reddit user JasonTodd027, the theory goes that Wanda, although an Avenger for the time being, has been in cahoots with Hydra all along, waiting for an opportune moment to strike at the Avengers and get revenge not just for what happened to her parents, but to Pietro in Sokovia as well.

As far as fan theories go, this one is definitely up there with the 'you won't believe' (and nor should you) category. Wanda's very much over her villainous ways (if they could even be called villainous in the first place), and it would be a long play indeed if she were to betray the Avengers now after having given herself to Cap's cause in Civil War.

While a withdrawal from the Avengers would make sense in the event of Vision dying (a real possibility, given how he holds the Mind Stone), there's little chance Scarlet Witch will be betraying her comrades when Thanos comes a knocking.
