27. T'Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) - What If? & Black Panther 2

The king of Wakanda returns prior to his own sequel for What If... and we've already had a hint of what that story is going to entail as D23 revealed T'Challa seemingly reimagined as Star-Lord. Presumably, the what if question at its heart is what if T'Challa had been kidnapped by Yondu and not Peter Quill. Interesting, to say the least.

And then, as D23 also confirmed, Chadwick Boseman is also back for his own headline show in Black Panther 2, which had been thought to be a Phase 5 film, but its announcement now makes that unlikely. Why else would it be the only post-Phase 4 movie announced? So far, details on the plot are sketchy at best, but let's hope the rumours of Namor being involved are true.
