MCU Phase 5: Predicting The NEW Avengers Lineup

The Avengers NEED Captain America. That is just a fact. Sure the Avengers comics didn't start out with him on the team, but when he did join, the team almost felt naked whenever he was absent.

With Steve officially retired from superhero life for various reasons that all end with "I'm really bloody old", Sam is poised to inherit the mantle of Captain America as he did in the comics when Steve had to retire for eerily similar various reasons.

We're about to see Sam and Bucky take on U. S. Agent in Falcon and The Winter Soldier whenever that drops on Disney+, but if Marvel studios has any remaining sense by the time Phase 5 rolls around, they won't keep Sam confined to his streaming show forever and give him his own ragtag group of heroes to lead like Steve did before him.

Like Steve, Sam is a natural born leader, a tactical genius, and a highly trained soldier who gets along just fine without any silly serum to buff him up. Seeing him in the Captain America suit is going to be something else, as will seeing him crying out "Avengers Assemble".
