In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the God of Thunder has been through a lot over the years.

From the death of his beloved mother, being banished to Earth and loss of his entire planet, Thor has time and time again faced heart break with heroism. Thor has taken on Thanos, Ultron and even his own brother in his time in the MCU.

Despite the often sad moments in the Thor movies, the character still manages to find the fun. Thanks to Taika Waititi's involvement, Thor managed to move away from an almost Shakespearean character to a one that was fun and vibrant. Which can make it even more painful when devastating moments happen to him.

From his very first moment in the MCU, Thor has been the perfect blend between seriousness and humour. He can portray comedy along with heartache in equal measure.
