The only other Avenger who was worthy enough to lift Mjolnir, Steve Rogers underwent a procedure which made him stronger in every way. Even in Avengers: Endgame when it seemed like all was lost, Steve helped survivors who lost loved ones to the snap. The Sentinel of Liberty proved that what makes you a hero isn't technology and super enhancements, it's the desire to do what's right.
Endgame saw the last of Steve Rogers as Captain America, with him passing that mantle on to Sam Wilson to take forward in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and in 2024's Captain America: New World Order.
