Mel Gibson Rant Recording Released by Joe Eszterhas

After releasing the nine page letter last week in which Joe Eszterhas claimed Mel Gibson used anti-semantic language and threatened to kill his ex girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva - Eszterhas has now released an audio recording which he says backs up his claims.

In the audio recording that was made by Eszterhas's son Nick, Mel is heard calling his ex girlfriend a "cocksucker" and screaming at Eszterhas for not finishing The Macabees script on time.

The Maccabees was a film that Eszterhas was writing about 2nd century Judah Maccabee who, during the 2nd century, led a Jewish Revolt against the Seleucid Empire. Gibson was going to direct the film but Warner Bros. canceled the project and blamed the script.

Joe Eszterhas has come under criticism from some people for releasing the nine page letter that he sent to Gibson. Friend of Gibson, Mickey Rourke said;

"Everybody is looking to make Mel look bad, He's an easy fucking target. We live in a town that's built on envy. What do you expect?"

Knowing that he will face similar criticism after releasing this tape, Eszterhas has defended his decision and said he is hoping it will encourage Gibson to get help;

"The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help. My interest isn't to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others, starting with Jews, including Oksana and now, I'm sure, me" "I strongly believe that unless he seeks and receives some kind of psychiatric help, someone is going to get hurt. I know how frightened we all were. No one has the right to treat another human being that way. This tape shows him the way he really is."

Mel Gibson said the claims in the original letter were a ''fabrication'' and Esterhas will be hoping that the tape recording will go someway to show that he was telling the truth. But in Gibsons's defense he dosnt say anything anti-semitic in the recording. Estrehas said his son Nick wanted the tape to be released;

"was adamant I release this tape".
