Michelle Rodriguez Returns For RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION

Despite being zombified and then shot in the face earlier, the actress returns to the franchise alongside Oded Fehr and the newly cast Johann Urb & Kevin Durand.

If you are, like myself, an avid fan of the Resident Evil film franchise then you may be following a certain actress on Twitter. Milla Jovovich, who plays protagonist Alice within the films, is the kind of person who likes to keep her fans updated on what is going on behind the scenes of whatever films she is currently in. For example during the filming of her up and coming film "The Three Musketeers" we were treated to behind the scenes photos of her trying on her costume for the first time. Which was awesome. Now, whilst Milla is filming the fifth film in the Resident Evil franchise, we have been lucky enough to get quick videos of her training and practising some of the moves that will hopefully be put into the film. Then this little video popped up. http://yfrog.com/jx7v4z HOLY RETURNING CHARACTER BATMAN! That's right. It seems that Michelle Rodriguez, who played Rain Ocampo in the very first film, is set to return in the next entitled Resident Evil: Retribution. How she will be returning is somewhat of a mystery at the moment as her character did actually get killed off at the end of the first instalment. Twice actually. She was zombified and then shot in the face. So does this hint at possible flashbacks in Retribution or will there be entire sequences that are set in the past before the T-virus outbreak? We don't know the full details yet but what we can be certain of is that Miss Rodriguez will be doing some kick ass stunts as, in the video, she was being secured into a safety harness. This is not the first recurring character to be confirmed for the new film. Returning are Sienna Guillory, Colin Salmon, Boris Kodjoe, Oded Fehr and Shawn Roberts. Also newly cast today are Johann Urb (2012) and Kevin Durand (Lost), the latter according to Deadline as the leader of a resistance group that unites with Jovovich's Alice to fight Umbrella. The new Resident Evil film is set to open September 14th 2012, once again directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
