Mission: Impossible - 15 Most WTF Franchise Moments

13. That Awful CGI Helicopter (Mission: Impossible)

Revisiting the original Mission: Impossible, it's pretty neat how well the movie has aged in spite of its high-concept thrills. However, director Brian De Palma does perhaps take things one step too far in the film's final showdown, by having turncoat Franz Krieger (Jean Reno) show up in a woefully bad CGI helicopter.

As the helicopter is dragged into the Channel Tunnel while Hunt battles Jim Phelps (Jon Voight), it's hard not to laugh at the profound ugliness of the effects.

Sure, you can argue it's a bit unfair to mock a movie from two decades ago for its ropey CGI, but even upon release this scene wasn't exactly a looker.

Considering how the train fight is otherwise a pretty remarkable, well-aged sequence, the helicopter really is a bit of an eyesore.
