Without getting into details, Dead Reckoning Part One is likely to be remembered as an unexpectedly important blockbuster given one of its incredibly timely central thematics.

Though McQuarrie and Jendresen's story somewhat coincidentally feels like a ripped-from-the-headlines tale related to one of the most topical issues facing the world in 2023, given that it began shooting almost three years ago, one must conclude it to be a mere coincidence.

All the same, it certainly lends an interesting and unexpected flavour to the movie, and while this aspect of the narrative is also sure to be fairly divisive, it also ensures that the threat this time around feels much bigger and more uniquely apocalyptic compared to previous entries.
