4. The INSANE Helicopter Chase

And to top off everything that came before it, we have the utterly demented final chase, in which the nukes start their 15-minute countdown, Walker escapes by chopper to get to a safe distance, and Hunt pursues him.

While Luther, Julia, Ilsa and Benji attempt to defuse the nukes on the ground, Ethan climbs atop the payload of a decoy helicopter, commandeers the vehicle by murdering the two occupants, and miraculously manages to pilot it (much to the amazement of his team).

As Hunt's chopper overtakes Walker's, Walker opens fire with the biggest machine gun you've ever seen, carving the mountain up, until the two vehicles finally collide in the air and crash on the same precarious mountain crevasse.

Cruise reportedly spent 6,000 hours over 3 months learning to fly the chopper for real, shaming most actors who, quite understandably, would just let a double do it and be green-screened in.
