Monaghan confirms WOLVERINE approach
If she can fit the movie in her schedule, actress Michelle Monaghan has hinted that she will take on the role of Silver Fox in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. The 31 year old actress is currently out filming the terrorist thriller EAGLE EYE with Shia LaBeouf for director D.J. Caruso, a guy who we believe turned down the chance of directing this picture.
Speaking to Coming Soon, she officially revealed for the first time that she has been offered a part in the movie..."They've asked me to do it," she said. I really like Hugh Jackman and it's a really, really great franchise and stuff. I think we're going to have to work on dates and see if it conflicts. We'll see."Silver Fox for those not immersed in X-MEN lore, is the lover of Wolverine and the script I read was actually quite faithful to her character's path in the comics. You can read about that HERE but it will contain spoilers. Although I was holding out Maggie Q for the part, I do have a soft spot for Monaghan and I think she will have no problem being able convince us that she is psychically capable for the part. In fact she reminds me a little of Famke Janssen and if she can bring that kind of fiery chemistry to the table here then they will really be onto something with this casting. The movie is due out next May with filming set to begin down in Australia very soon indeed. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Michael C. Hall (Stryker), Liev Schreiber (Sabertooth) and possibly Monaghan as Silver Fox looks to be the main cast.
