6. Will Traeger - The Predator
Shane Black's The Predator may have been a colossal disappointment from pretty much start to finish, but that didn't stop it serving up one of the hilariously unexpected deaths in the entire series.
In the third act, government agent Will Traeger (Sterling K. Brown) gets a hold of one of the Predator's iconic shoulder cannons and attempts to use it against one of the aliens, only for it to backfire totally spectacularly.
When Traeger turns his head while watching one of the Predators stalk through the woods, the cannon ends up locking onto his moving head, causing it to discharge and immediately obliterate his head.
It's such a brilliant subversion of expectations to have a human felled by their own arrogant attempt to command alien technology, even if the scene is lit so damn dimly that you might initially struggle to see precisely what happened to the guy.
