New 10,000 B.C. Trailer & Emmerich's 2012 is picked up by Sony

Roland Emmerich's next end of the world disaster movie has been picked up by Sony for a release in 2009, after a fierce bidding war on Wednesday. The studio will pump nothing less than $200 million into the project described as the next epic disaster movie in the vain of THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and INDEPENDENCE DAY... two movies I don't need to remind you made well over $1 billion combined worldwide. No word yet on what the apocalyptic threat will be, but I'm still thinking it could be prints of Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS sequel which Emmerich's cast must try and destroy before it reaches the theatres. Cast Will Smith, and you are onto a winner here. Meanwhile, Wednesday was also the day that a new trailer went out for Emmerich's next movie 10,000 B.C, which you can see below or in the recommended Quicktime version HERE. The film is due out March 7th in the U.S, and one week later in the U.K. Pretty WOW, don't ya think?
