New director for TRANSPORTER 3

Louis Leterrier has moved on to bigger and better things having filmed the big budget blockbuster THE INCREDIBLE HULK for Marvel this Summer and whatever it is his future holds (no irons in the fire just yet) it won't involve Jason Statham's mercenary Frank Martin.

Whether it's because he is sick of the franchise or because he's read the script and it sucks, or because he's holding out for a bigger film..who knows. The only truth at this point is that Olivier Megaton has replaced Leterrier in the director's chair for TRANSPORTER 3. Who the hell is he you ask? According to IMDB he was the second unit director on HITMAN (he shot the subway fight scene in the flick) and directed the B-grade French action movie THE RED SIREN. Casting for the secondary roles are said to be underway right now with an expected Summer shoot date in Paris set in stone. We assume Jason Statham has returned for the film (without him, there really is no franchise) to continue his one-man mission of being the biggest action star in the world (he's soon to film his other action series CRANK 2). source - filmactu, coming soon
