New Doctor Strange Image Teases Major Action Scene

Benedict Cumberbatch is looking a little worse for wear.

Marvel have released a new still for Doctor Strange (exclusively to Yahoo! Movies) that, upon first inspection, seems rather basic - it's Benedict Cumberbatch in full Sorcerer Supreme get-up looking rather serious. However, taking in the location and the general state of the image, it's surprisingly revealing.

That location appears to be the Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange's Manhattan HQ, and it's seen better days, with smashed glass all about and its inhabitant noticeably bloody. This chimes with what we've seen in the trailers, with Strange duking it out with Mads Mikkelsen's Kaecilius, meaning this shot probably comes from the end of that skirmish.

I'd wager that this is the film's end-of-second-act inciting incident, a smaller fight ahead of the reality-threatening finale, putting it at a rather pivotal point in the plot.

So far the hype train for Doctor Strange hasn't really got going, with focus very much on how it's just another Marvel movie. That's certainly enough to get many into the cinema, although I'm still waiting on that real "OMFG I have to see that movie right now" hook.

Doctor Strange is in UK cinemas from 28th October and US cinemas from 3rd November.
