Jay Chou, the guy actually filling the shoes of
Bruce Lee, that I didn't even notice when I first glanced through
Superhero Hype. I'm getting some bizare Oddjob vibes from the image, like he should be the second or third tier villain in a 60's Bond movie. But then again, it's only the stunt double so as long as the outfit and basic shape is correct that's all that matters. I mean a stunt double's face is supposed to be nondescript anyway. The close-ups will be of Chou (who must be at least 15 years younger than this guy) and maybe he won't look so mean? There's also our first look at lead
Seth Rogen (as Britt Reid, aka
The Green Hornet), and
Cameron Diaz (the love interest/amateur sleuth).
Is it just me or the slimmer Rogen gets, the more plain he looks - therefore he kind of looks
less like a leading man? When he was slimmer the first time around (see his part in
The 40 Year Old Virgin), he had the same problem. I still think the movie would have worked with him fatter, especially with Gondry's off base kind of film-making, making it a kind of post-modern
Adam West style show with an overweight and less troubled Bruce Wayne. And for those hating on Rogen at the minute - all I'm going to say is take a look at his last two movies
Observe & Report, Funny People. This is not a guy giving us the same character over and over again. A Travis Bickle esque Mall Cop and a joke thieving, mostly unfunny opportunist asshole couldn't be further away from the lovable lug he was playing before. He is now playing characters with more dimensions, with higher stakes at play.
