New SCREAM 4 Trailer Is Full Of Nostalgia & Fun!

Wes Craven's original Scream was an important release in the make-up of my film childhood. It came out just exactly at the right time for me. I am a child of the mid 80's and Scream was the first 18-rated movie I saw in the theatre before I was anyway near 18 (isn't that the case with everyone?). I was tall for my age, so somehow I made it work but it was mostly thanks to the slack stewarding at my local and now defunct theatre. Having already seen The Exorcist and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre by then, Scream was a walk in the park (except the one shot of Drew Barrymore being hung which was a jarring opening) and maybe it was the screaming, flinching, shuffling young female adults, many of whom had their hands over their eyes throughout, who shouldn't have been allowed in. They may have been 18 but it seemed too much for them. I love Scream, I know every line of dialogue, every shot, beat. Even the sequels. I honestly can't believe I'm within four months of seeing a fourth film after a ten year wait. That's a happy thing. A second, full-length trailer for the film was released today at the Canadian distributor's site and it's well and truly Scream. Isn't it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FChTKBz1xjs I'm so glad Williamson/Craven have collaborated on this again. That's how it should be. And I bet Craven had fun recreating the kind of images (see above) as the original had. Is the killer perched on that fountain, again? Don't tell me, I don't want to know. I'm avoiding spoilers everywhere I can. Scream 4 opens April 15th and I hope the audience goes for it. I remember the Scream fever of the late 90's and I would love to see it return in 2011.
