New Shot From Ridley Scott's Prometheus Revealed
This seems to be the first shot that really gives us a glimpse of Ridley Scott's approach to 3D that will be used in the film when it arrives in June.
Via the Prometheus Twitter Page there's a bit of a puzzle going on that unlocks the new image above, featuring star charts and sparkles and another room within the classic Derelict featured in the first two Alien movies (presumably of course...there's so much mystery surrounding this movie). This seems to be the first shot that really gives us a glimpse of Ridley Scott's approach to 3D that will be used in the film (whether we like it or not) when it arrives in June. I don't know about you but the first Prometheus trailer really elevated this flick to being the 'Must See' of 2012 but these 3D elements and the hologram style technology featured (as well as the rumour we see none of our beloved Xenomorphs) make our beloved 'Derelict' feel a little more like every other ship in sci-fi. This is leaving me a little bit cold. That said, I want (and almost NEED) this not-an-Alien-prequel-but-obviously-is-an-Alien-prequel/reboot to be as good as everything else we've seen so far. So the big questions are: Is that Charlize Theron in the middle of the sparkles? Is that slightly curved image just above her a blueprint for our classic alien or just a trick of the light? What the hell is the Derelict actually for? And lastly and simply... what the hell is this movie going to be about? Prometheus hits cinemas 1st June 2012 in the UK and the 8th June 2012 in the US.
