Sony are desperately trying to make the marketing for The Amazing Spider-Man seem relevant in a month simply dominated by The Dark Knight Rises at rival studio Warner Bros. Just 24 hours before the internet likely explodes with chatter regarding The Dark Knight Rises trailer and prologue that will be in theatres tomorrow (and seriously... expect an upsurge in box office for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), Sony have updated the official website of The Amazing Spider-Man with some new photos and also some character details and story synopsis. Somewhat interestingly, Irrfan Khan's character in the cast listing now says Dr. Ratha instead of Van Adder as previously announced.... The Story Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father held... a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story. On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins. His motivations are unclear as to why he elects to be the first human test subject - but what becomes evident is that something goes horribly wrong. The Amazing Spider-Man is coming June 3rd, 2012.
