New writer brought on board for SPIDER-MAN 4

New writers being hired for big budget movies in Hollywood are nothing new, in fact it's the expected working practice. It's actually a rarity that a screenplay gets crafted by one single writer all the way through it's production, especially in regards to comic book movies. Which is why you shouldn't panic to hear that SPIDER-MAN 4 has got a new writer to replace James Vanderbilt (ZODIAC). Only after the fourth or fifth new writer (i.e. HANCOCK) has jumped on board, should we then start to panic... The Hollywood Reporter say Pulitzer winning Playwright (for his 2007 play Rabbit Hole) David Lindsay-Abaire is now in charge of writing duties. He is known for his character driven plays and characters living on the outskirts of society (perfect!) and has credit on the animated movie ROBOTS and the upcoming INKHEART. The hiring mirrors the kind of writer they used earlier in the series when dramatic screenwriter Alvin Sargent and Pulitzer prize winning author Michael Chabon wrote SPIDEY 2 and churned out the best film of the series. The trades once again say Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst will all return.
