New writers on CONAN

OUTLANDER scribes to fast-track $100 million R-Rated movie.

Outlander writer/director Howard McCain and his co-scribe Dirk Blackman have been plucked by Lionsgate to re-write another warrior epic, Conan. It's said that not only their Outlander movie impressed the studio but also there currently undeveloped script Amazon, which once had Scarlett Johansson attached as a female warrior and also looks soon to fall into the hands of the studio. The Hollywood Reporter say a search for a director for both movies is on the way, though I wouldn't rule out McCain helming like he did with Outlander.

Sahara scribes Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer had wrote the original draft which Lionsgate picked up but after a slow down in production, the studio wanted some new writers to help fast track the project into shooting mode.

CEO and president of Paradox Entertainment Fredrik Malmberg who is co-producing the $100 million R-Rated movie said...

"Fans expect (these types of movies) to be more true to the source material," Malmberg said. "There's no reason there couldn't be a Conan movie every two years. He's almost like Batman: He's a dark hero. He's a hard hero. He has to be badass, but we also have to like him."
Chris Nolan really did create something special with Batman Begins didn't he? What he did has been cited for inspiration by the new Bond franchise, the new Terminator franchise, the new Robocop franchise and now Conan.
