New Year's Eve 2012: 8 Most Memorable New Year Screen Kisses

7. The Godfather: Part II

Godfather Part 2 Perhaps not the best way to herald the start of a new year, but Michael Corleone's infamous kiss of death for brother Fredo on New Year's Eve represented a new beginning of sorts and a notorious end for the unfortunate figure of Michael's older brother. He is a strange figure for the majority of the first film, gently poked fun at, and openly derided thanks to his failure to prevent the near-fatal assassination attack on his father that left him weeping by Vito's badly wounded body. But by the second film, things have changed and Fredo has become more of a part of the business - though he is denied any real power - which ends up being the seed of his downfall as he is tempted to plot against his own brother for personal gain. In a film franchise frequently punctuated by intense moments, this might just be Al Pacino's most impressive, and a marvellous thing to copy if you're looking to freak people out at your New Year's Eve party... http://youtu.be/FcFlp6kl508
