Some details have emerged on what exactly
Rob Zombie's faux trailer
Werewolf Women of the S.S. for the
Grindhouse project is all about.
Fangoria found through
Dark Horizons claim that the trailer will be
"the story of Hitler's plan to create a race of superhuman werewolf women to win the war -- based on actual documents found in Hitler's bunker". We've known for weeks now that
Nicolas Cage will be starring in the trailer. What's very interesting though, is that Fangoria claim he will be playing the role of
Dr. Fu Manchu, an extremely famous super villain that originated in Sax Rohmer's novels of the early 20th century, who went on to appear in countless number of movies and other works of fiction. The character also influenced such villains as James Bond villain
Dr. No and of course Ming the Merciless from the
Flash Gordon cannon. This is a description of the character taken from the film
The Insidious Dr. Fu Manchu....
"Imagine a person, tall, lean and feline, high-shouldered, with a brow like Shakespeare and a face like Satan, a close-shaven skull, and long, magnetic eyes of the true cat-green. Invest him with all the cruel cunning of an entire Eastern race, accumulated in one giant intellect, with all the resources of science past and present... Imagine that awful being, and you have a mental picture of Dr. Fu-Manchu, the yellow peril incarnate in one man". What's the odds that
Quentin Tarantino suggested that Zombie should use the character for his Grindhouse trailer? It sounds like something that could only come from the mind of that evil genius. Dark Horizons point out that there could well be a rights issue over the character, so he will probably not be named directly in the movie to overcome this. Also in Zombie's trailer will be
Udo Kier,
Bill Moseley,
Tom Towles and of course the director's wife
Sheri Moon Zombie. source -
