No Time To Die : All 5 Daniel Craig James Bond Films Ranked

2. Casino Royale

No Time To Die Daniel Craig
MGM

Craig's debut as James Bond still stands as his very best performance, as he demonstrates both the character's emotional poignance and cynical brutality, eliminating any lingering doubt for 2006 audiences that he was suitable for the role, and proving himself the 007 of the twenty-first century. Craig is complimented by stellar performers Eva Green and Mads Mikkelsen as Bond girl and villain respectively.

Even on fronts aside from cast, Casino Royale succeeds in everything it attempts. In contrast to Spectre, it is the superlative product of its ingredients: a grounded tense plot and tone straight from Ian Fleming; a heart-breaking romance; exhilarating action; and stunning scenery - all expertly directed by Martin Campbell.

Nearly all fans consider this one of the best in the series. From its release, critics and fans were agreed on its brilliance.

It also features the most satisfying ending of the entire series, as Craig delivers that most iconic of all introductions, to the backdrop of that most iconic of all theme songs, a perfect epitaph to the film which would set the tone for years to come.
