NORTH BY NORTHWEST Blu-Ray
If Warners are listening... today is probably the last chance you have to get this title to me!
I'm about to give up on my quest to track down the U.K. edition of North By Northwest on Blu-Ray, which hits retail shelves next Monday and I've pretty much spent thirty minutes a day trying to track down. I had a similar go at getting the new Wizard of Oz Blu-Ray last week but hit the same problem. I've had some pleasant conversations with the people at Warners, and for a while mid-week it looked like I was getting somewhere but it's all gone quiet now. Eerily so.
Strangely, the cover has an odd, almost constipated Cary Grant in a slow-mo kind of run. I so desperately want to get my hands on this title, I felt like I had to tell you guys. It's my joint favourite Alfred Hitchcock movie along with Vertigo and I know it intimately. Every colour, every frame texture, every sound beat. If the Blu-Ray transfer is as good as DVD Beaver make it out to be, then man, give me a chance to see it and I can tell the world. The kind of image Blu-Ray DVD was invented for. How else could you devour the effort of the production design on quick stills such as this one? If Warners are listening. You have my address. Today is likely to be the last chance to get it to me!
