Official Plot Synopsis For Creed Spoils Less Than One Single Tweet From Sylvester Stallone

Learn the broad strokes of the new Rocky movie.

Creed Movie Production is underway on Ryan Coogler's Creed, a spin-off from the Rocky series that focuses on Adonis Creed, grandson of Apollo. We can expect to see it in our cinemas by year's end, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it pick up some acting nominations, maybe even wins, during the next awards season. A new, official plot synopsis has now been published, revealing the broad strokes. Adonis Johnson never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there€™s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed€™s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo€”the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring With Rocky in his corner, it isn€™t long before Adonis gets his own shot at the title€but can he develop not only the drive but also the heart of a true fighter, in time to get into the ring? Notice the reference to "an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring"? Stallone has not only spoiled what that threat is but also how that plot line pays off. He threw up a photo on Twitter that features the last page of the film's screenplay. https://twitter.com/TheSlyStallone/status/549320892862328832 Conspiracy theorists might entertain the notion that this is all a big ruse, and that the film will have a different ending, but I don't. I'm intrigued by Creed, and hope Coogler can do better than his disappointing, though sincere and respectable Fruitvale Station. It could also be a great way to pay off the Rocky series without hitting things too squarely on the nose. Creed has a US release date of November 25th, and hopefully the UK date will follow closely.
