Olyphantastic leads THE CRAZIES

The Hollywood Reporter say that Timothy Olpyhant will lead Overture's remake of George A. Romero's 70's horror THE CRAZIES, to be directed by Breck Eisner (SAHARA). He will play the town's Sheriff.

The story revolves around the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Olyphant is playing the town's sheriff.
Scott Kosar (THE AMITYVILLE HORROR) and Ray Wright (PULSE) wrote the screenplay. Such an unnecessary movie... for more on THE CRAZIES, read Tom Fallows' great book. And for more on what "Olyphantastic" means, check out the latest Kevin Smith stand-up DVD, A THREEVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH.
