One What If? Scenario For Each Marvel Film

What If Spider-Man Never Gave Up Tony's Glasses?

A simple change of the narrative can lead to wild consequences. What if Peter had his doubts about giving up Tony's glasses to Mysterio, possibly wanting to hold onto to them until he could maybe pass them on to someone he knows a bit better? While Mysterio may be willing to play the long game to try and secure the drones needed for his master plan, he also seems like quite a unhinged individual who wouldn't want to wait around.

In this scenario Peter would probably make Mysterio even more dangerous as he becomes desperate to try and steal the glasses. Knowing Peter's identity as Spider-Man, Mysterio could target those close to Peter as well as exposing his secret identity himself. By not giving up the glasses, Peter might actually be making a fatal mistake.

This would likely also bring the final climax back to New York, meaning that Spider-Man could blamed for any destruction despite the outcome and J. Jonah Jameson could have even more screentime, so it's a win-win really.
