It's been reported that
Takeshi Kaneshiro has been tapped up to play the lead role in the
Onimusha movie. What's so good about this news is that Kaneshiro is the actor that Capcom have used for the likeness and voice of the main character in their video game of which the film is adapted from. Perfect. Add to that, this guy can really act too. He was the lead in
The House of Flying Daggers and he appeared in the really cool movie
Chungking Express in the mid 90's.
Christophe Gans, that frustrating French director who keeps threatening to make a good film is helming, and shooting is set to take place early next year... although the film won't be in our cinema's until late 2009. source -
