6. The Dark Knight Rises
Nomination deserved: Best Picture Let me start by saying this: The Dark Knight was the superior film and deserved a nomination at the very least so it's not surprising TDKR did not get one. Not to mention that TDKR had a lot of issues, mainly stemming from plot holes and occasional pacing issues. However, the spectacle and shear scope of TDKR is enough to warrant a Best Picture nomination. It was no doubt one of the most entertaining films of the year and filled with what makes films so wonderful. Django Unchained is mentioned as one of the more entertaining films of the year and is nominated for Best Picture, so why not TDKR? Django is an hour too long and should have been ended two times before it was, but TDKR was also a little longer than it should have been, so the films are not much different. So why Django and not TDKR?
