silver linings Oddly specific, but it€™s true. A man crying, or screaming out in pain €“ especially if he has spent the entire film to be just angry, or happy, or even emotionless €“ greatly adds to the power of the film. Bradley Cooper having to constantly scream in Silver Linings Playbook while asserting his normalcy is a blatant example of a man needing to scream to find his life, while Denzel Washington in Flight showed the breakdown by doing nothing more than finally telling the truth. Men are seen as islands of rock and fortitude in a torrential downpour of emotion today. Seeing them break, even if only for an instant, reminds us all that emotion cannot be stopped. This emotion and tactic is surpassed only by one remaining ingredient€
