Oscars 2013: Remembering The Most Famous Infamous Speeches Ever

6. Louise Fletcher- Best Actress (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGl5U7nNlkY Lousie Fletcher was still relatively unknown to audiences even though she was featured in one of 1975's biggest hits, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Her bone chilling performance as Nurse Ratched, the heartless "Big Nurse" in the film was very deserving of the Best Actress Oscar in 1976. However Fletcher, who's performance was so intense that she feared of being typecast and perceived as a villain, took a gamble at the Oscars to show her more sensitive side during her acceptance speech. At the end of her speech Fletcher took a moment to personally thank her parents, who are both deaf, for supporting her dreams of winning the Oscar. Fletcher emotionally begins speaking directly to her parents through sign language, making this speech one of the most touching and personal speeches the awards show had ever seen.
